Tampa Bay - a state-of-mind in the body of Florida. It's almost like a living vacation. From serene sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico to movement and motion of nightlife, the Tampa Bay area has it all within reach…just select your direction.
N In the North, the Downs are the scene several months out of each year, when some of the best horses in the business race. Flea markets and outdoor flatwoods adventures tours are some daytime features in this region. Great schools and recreational activities augment the atmosphere of open spaces. The University of Florida and Busch Gardens are the larger landmarks. Lots of shopping centers keep the shoppers happy and parks are peppered throughout the area for that unexpected picnic.
E In the East, it's all about the family. Whether you prefer indoor or outdoor soccer, Brandon is the place. An ice rink and roller rink round out the skating enthusiasts, adult and child alike. Westfield Shopping Towne is center stage among lots of shops. Schools dot the region, as do parks and recreational facilities - there are even bicycle path parks for the cycling inclined. Plant City hosts a Strawberry Festival each year in honor of their famed fruit and the Florida State Fair is hosted in this region as well. Center Place offers entertainment from art exhibitions to small town plays, while the Ampitheatre at the fairgrounds hosts larger show stoppers regularly on an outdoor stage.
S In the South, it's about growth. The retirement community of Sun City Center is at the southernmost point. Situated only a few miles from the coastal communities of Apollo Beach and Ruskin, the idea is relaxation. Several planned communities that have surfaced in recent years are attracting families with community pools and clubhouse facilities. Hillsborough Community College is seeded here and new shopping centers are appearing all the time. This is a dynamic area!
W In the West, it's somewhat urban with a hint of eclectic chic. Downtown Tampa has the pizzazz of a city environment, but is still small enough to keep it friendly feeling. The St. Pete Times Forum offers big name entertainment. Channelside offers shopping and entertainment by day; a buzzing nightlife after hours. A quick trolley ride takes you to historic Ybor City for more of the same, but with a latin flair. Davis Island and Hyde Park add the eclectic mix. Moving more westward, towards the International Airport, the International Mall is a large conglomerate of shops and restaurants, and several other shopping malls are nearby.
The greater Tampa Bay area is a state of mind. It's a lifestyle that mirrors a constant vacation. Getting out into the community is easy in any direction, there is always something to do or somewhere to go, and even getting there is easy!
